Why Sachin is GOD ?? One more time :P

Before I die, there were 2 unfulfilled desires of mine !

1) India should win a World-Cup ,with Sachin's major Role in it !
2) Sachin should make a record of Highest ODI total by Individual and score 200 odd runs in a ODI.

24 Feb 2010 !

I would undoubtedly say "This is so far the BEST day of my entire life" !!

39 years of One day internationals (2961 ODI matches) and not a single double hundred. But 24 Feb 2010 has written a golden page in history of game !!
1 wish came true and i was the Happiest man on the planet !! (i know..you might have heard similar reactions from many people after GOD did this...But..add 1 more in them !)

I can not thank Sachin enough for giving me this moment on which I can live my whole life :)
What a proud moment for all Indians! India’s greatest son has yet again given us a moment to cherish.

In case you are not that great fan of GOD, (Shame on you @ first :P) you might wonder, why persons like me keep hyping up this person ??..
"With age on his side, this man is set out to be the highest run getter in the history of world cricket.
He has already won rich praises from people and fellow/former cricketers who see in him a living legend and 
a master batsman who is leagues above his fellow cricketers.
Truly, a living legend and a great champion...then who are you to question why he is not great ?..and why I should not hype his did?? "

Whenever Sachin achieves some milestone, there always starts a question

"Is Sachin Greatest Cricketer ever ?"

Many times this debate goes on for a week or two.. without any conclusion.
(Even more than 90% people say YES ...every time.. YES !!!)
But I say, this still does not conclude as the rest (less than 10%) people are always there, eager to get in some focus, by saying "NO".
They only have "Sir Donald George Bradman" on their side to defend this crown.

But, let me say Sachin is not only the best,he is beyond any comparison...Not even with Sir Donald George Bradman.
Bradman lived and played in a different era, and the game has progressed and go to a complete new level now.
We have even more countries playing the game, more competition, better bowlers, much better fielding and strategy.
Super computers to analyze each player last game and the strategies.

Sachin, on the other hand, is by far till now the greatest player.
And he's right here in front of us, in flesh and blood.
All of his flaws and strengths are under the spotlight in front of a billion people over the globe.
He is even undoubtedly most studied cricketer by opponents.

Batting aside, it would be fair to wonder if Bradman would even be remotely capable of handling this kind of pressure.
When he comes to bat,whole country (I even can write HALF GLOBE) prays to God (other than Sachin... :P ) for his 100...every time.

There have been better players than Bradman, even before Sachin came along .Lara and Viv Richards included.

Here are few remarks when GOD achieved his 200* yesterday,

"I thought the way he celebrated when he reached his 200 epitomized the man's persona. 
There was no running laps around the field, no aggressive gestures, nothing over-the-top. 
He did what he always does, raised both his arms, closed his eyes for a moment and quietly acknowledged that it had been done."

"If any person deserved to do better than me it was Tendulkar. I am happy for him, there are no real regrets."
==>Saeed Anwar, whose 194 was the previous highest ODI score.

Here is what GOD said when he got the Man Of the Match award for this match.

Why to Save our Tigers ???.. .C'mon Join my Roar :)

Yesterday night I had watched this advertise by Aircel...again...(May be for 100th time)

But,there was a small difference this time.

Manish (My room-partner) and Prashant (My hostel room-partner) were there...watching it .. i don't know their  count ..

Even though Manish uses Airtel and Me with Vodafone since last 2 years,we are appreciating the effort by Aircel :)

But, yesterday, Prashant said "This is all ****...nothing will help..this is all their money making policy !!"

Obviously,our ego's were hurt and so were we. :(

Then began the furious discussion,... ,............, ......-----.......-------,

many things were said and many were understood and many were rejected .. but..

we (Me and Manish) concluded to a single point..

"I don't mind giving 1000/- to a noble cause,as it makes me feel good !..if that single moment gives me some pleasure

and feel of satisfaction.. and somewhere deep in my heart i feel i am right.. i am happy.!!"

As it is for sure..either while taking Clothes,accessories,we would not have given a second thought for 1000/-

so why now ??.. and especially when it is for some good reason. ??..Man..go for it !!..

The discussion ended soon as some news channel started to show some stats about GOD (Sachin Tendulkar)!

But then ...after few minutes.. i really stared to think upon it.. once more..

given a deep thought.. !.. Tried to think more deeper..

And then found some lines that i could share with you all..

See...Saving the "Tiger" means saving Our self !!..

Yes!!..Not only because Tiger is a great animal but it is also the indicator of the forest's health.

Saving the tiger means we save the forest since tiger cannot live in places where trees have vanished and in turn secure food and water for all.

If we make sure tigers live, we will have to make sure that deer,rabbit and all other animals that the tiger eats also lives.

To make sure that these herbivores live,we must make sure that all the trees,grass and other plants that these prey animals need for food are protected.

In this way, the whole forest gets saved!

Saving the tiger means saving its entire forest kingdom with all the other animals in it.

As we know forests catch and help store rainwater and protect soils.

In this way we protect our rivers and recharge groundwater sources.

Areas with less trees lead to floods, killing people and destroying homes.It takes away the precious soil, leaving behind a wasteland.

The soil jams up our lakes and dams, reducing their ability to store water. By destroying the tiger's home, we not only harm tigers, but also ourselves.

The tiger thus becomes the symbol for the protection of all species on our earth since it is at the top of the food chain.

So.. at the end of the day..if it's your birthday ..if you are throwing a party @ Mac-D,CCD,KFC or ..where-ever..

Give a second thought if you can.. I agree your friends might not be more delighted if you will tell them,

"I will give 1000/- from our treat to Tigers and we will have only Samosa today !!" :P

But,i guess you can tell them this way,

"Lets not drink 1 cold-drink this time and save those 500/- which will be given for Save Tigers from all of us"

and they might feel good..

After-all,these are all independent decisions...

I have heard/read it somewhere years ago..

But on 8th feb, when I was in Pune, I recollected it as the situation has forced me to remember something like this.

What happened was, I came to Pune and was on Pune Station.

I inquired about the Bus for Karve Nagar, and everyone seems to have different and firm opinion?...

1) "It’s on the left hand side only"

2) "I guess you will need to have auto...its too far and you are on the wrong side"

3) "Take a left and go straight for five minutes and then ask for Depot and you will get it."

4) "You cannot get the bus from here .. you will need to go to Deccan to get that bus..or go to Corporation stop..its easy.."

What the hell ??.. I have experienced this hospitality of these people earlier also..

That is why it was not new thing for me.. So i called few friends and concluded ,3rd option was near to something meaningful.

At last..after 15 odd mins, I got the depot and it seemed like they are builded up "Highly Confidential Zone" in there.

No where you will be able to locate any boards/signs indicating that this place is indeed Bus Depot !! :P

Even the entrance to it seemed like a small parking lane.. ??.. why so narrow and dusty road ??.. i didn't got that ?..

Then was my real test.. The bus conductors in Pune would have been working as City guides in Russia i guess..

When I asked ..Which bus goes via "karve Nagar" ,they reacted like I was on different planet !!..

Some of them said..it's in Kothrud .. (Yes… it’s correct. I even knew it.. That is why i need bus which goes there.. )

Some looked like I was asking for lift and they were driving BMW in there... what a crap..

After 2 years in Mumbai,you can not expect that people will misguide you in directions. but that does happen.

The Pune Crowd seems to have lot of time and skill in navigating people round the city.

They really taken 15-20 mins to speak out ..the bus goes from right corner of the depot.

Finally got the bus and it has taken 10 more minutes to start.

When the bus started the conductor went to driver and told him

"Do not get panic..its easy ..!!"

what ??... I thought I had enough for the day..what does that mean ??..

Is he driving the Bus for the first time ??..

I then learn quickly that "This driver is driving bus for the first time from Pune station to Kondwa!"

Wow... what a way to start a day (in fact..afternoon)...

I had kept my figures cross..as it was the only thing in my hand :)

Conductor was constantly telling him "take a left now.. take a right.. now stay straight.. no.. right.. are...right.. u turn.. "....

and the driver was following him word by word..

I thought for a moment.. how the Conductor is managing to give tickets.. and navigate the driver just in time ??..

was he in Intel ?? Multitasking...you know.. the processors do that thing best.. :P

When the conductor was busy in giving tickets,driver taken few rights and few left turns for granted...

i guess he was having a count down timer for a turn.. many be a turn is compulsory after every 3 mins ..or something like that.. :)

There were few moments when everyone on the bus thought, they will be having "Pune Darshan" in free..

The conductor,soon recovered from the shock when he has seen the bus in some OTHER lane..

He shouted.. "how .. why .. when.. why.."(again..and again.. ) pouring few bad word to driver..

He then shouted to the travelers,don't you know where are you going ??..

I am at least was not the culprit !..Rest were...

Now what ??... was the question in my mind..

But the people traveling were quite customized to these situations..I guess.

Very few of them reacted.. and then slowly started to tell "Correct" way .. I was out of my ideas...

I then switched on my music player and plugged the earphones.. 15 mins i counted and then removed the earphones..

Then asked my co passenger,"how far is karve Nagar ?"

5 mins ..may be the next stop.. he replied and I was really happy :)

Picked up the bag and stood up from the seat.. then went to the front door..

It had taken 10-15 mins and i finally got the board "Karve Nagar" .. I looked at Driver..

"Does he know.. he is supposed to take this STOP ?" this was the question in my mind..

Then 2-3 people screamed and yelled at him to stop the bus.. thanks to them..I got chance to get out of that dangerous vehicle.

Finally.. after 1 hour of journey.. i was @ karve nagar.. looking at the bus ..which just dropped me..

Right turn..it has taken  and i thought.. is he on the right way ??..

forget it.. i got my destination.. and let others worry about theirs..  :)
